Busan Gyeongnam Race Park Jockey Seo Seung-woon Achieves 600 Wins
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Jockey Seo Seung-woon of Korea Racing Authority Busan-Gyeongnam Racing Park has achieved a total of 600 wins. This is one of the record-level achievements in domestic horse racing.
On July 29, Jockey Seo rode the racehorse ‘Ace Solomon’ (Korea, gelding, 4 years old) to victory in the 12th race at Busan-Gyeongnam (Grade 3, 1400m).
In that race, Jockey Seo Seung-woon and ‘Ace Solomon’ had a smooth start and settled into second place. Maintaining their position throughout the race, they surged forward at the 4th corner and ran down the home stretch in first place.
Behind them, the jockeys of ‘Dongteuja Boy’ and ‘Mujeok Bulpae’ faced the sandstorm. They narrowed the gap to within half a length but were unable to surpass ‘Ace Solomon’ at the finish line.
Jockey Seo Seung-woon debuted in Seoul in 2011 and began racing at Busan-Gyeongnam from 2016. Born in 1989, at the young age of 32, he is a skilled jockey with 13 major race wins already under his belt.
In 2013, he earned the title of Best Jockey. This year, he has been shining by sweeping all three races of the Stayer Series with ‘Winner’s Man’ (Korea, stallion, 4 years old).
