[Mokpo=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that it will conduct a full survey and safety inspection of facilities to prevent accidents caused by safety-vulnerable road facilities such as bridge railings damaged by traffic accidents.
This inspection aims to identify inconveniences in the use of road facilities and to secure a safe road environment, targeting a total of 55 locations including 44 bridges and 11 pedestrian overpasses, and will be conducted until the end of this month.
The city plans to check the condition of sidewalks and vehicle traffic lanes, railing shaking, and support status through visual inspection.
In particular, the pedestrian overpasses will focus on assessing the degree of steel plate corrosion to ensure public safety and minimize inconveniences.
Minor issues found during the inspection will be addressed on-site, necessary repairs and reinforcement work will be carried out for facilities requiring supplementation, and if structural abnormalities occur, emergency measures will be taken followed by detailed inspections or diagnoses as needed.
