[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) announced on the 2nd that eight small and medium-sized enterprises related to the aviation industry in the Incheon area, which participated in the 'UK Farnborough International Airshow 2022,' held 46 business consultations and signed contracts worth 2 million dollars.
Incheon TP, together with Incheon City, set up the Incheon Pavilion at Farnborough Airport in Hampshire, UK, from the 18th to the 22nd of last month, supporting aviation and drone companies' entry into overseas markets by arranging business meetings at the international airshow.
Companies including Darwin Friction Co., Ltd., IDCT Co., Ltd., Clover Studio Co., Ltd., Pablo Aviation Co., Ltd., Augmented Intelligence Co., Ltd., Hunid Technologies Co., Ltd., Yong B AT Co., Ltd., and Sumbi Co., Ltd. set up promotional booths at the Incheon Pavilion to explore global market entry.
Among them, Darwin Friction signed an export contract worth 2 million dollars this year for aircraft brake parts with ADS (Aviation & Defence Spare Limited), a UK-based aircraft parts specialist company.
Additionally, they are pursuing a long-term contract to supply parts worth 1 to 2 million dollars annually starting next year, so the export scale is expected to increase significantly.
An Incheon TP official stated, "We supported participating companies by providing booths, equipment, and airfare to help them enter overseas markets," adding, "We achieved our goals through arranging B2B (business-to-business) and G2B (government-to-business) business meetings."
Meanwhile, the Farnborough International Airshow is a prestigious event in the aerospace defense industry where civilian and military aircraft and parts are exhibited, attracting more than 100,000 visitors annually.
