[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A woman in her 20s who worked part-time at a restaurant in Seoul was found dead after reporting to the police that she had been sexually harassed by a regular customer.
The Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 29th that a man in his 50s, Mr. A, suspected of forcible sexual harassment, was sent to the prosecution last month without detention.
Mr. A is accused of sexually harassing Ms. B, a woman in her 20s working part-time at a restaurant in Gangseo-gu in early May.
During the police investigation, Mr. A denied the crime, claiming he was drunk and could not remember, but later confessed after reviewing the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage capturing the incident.
Mr. A, believing Ms. B's police report was unjust, visited her again, and it is reported that the victim, Ms. B, ultimately took her own life.
Mr. A, who was sent to the prosecution, is expected to be brought to trial once the additional investigation is completed.
