Warrant Hearing Scheduled Possibly as Early as Tomorrow
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The police have requested arrest warrants for drug distributors related to the 'Gangnam Entertainment Venue Death Case.'
The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced on the 29th that they have applied for arrest warrants for four individuals suspected of supplying and distributing drugs in violation of the Narcotics Control Act.
They are accused of selling drugs suspected to be Philopon (methamphetamine) to a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, who died after using the drugs at a Gangnam entertainment venue on the 5th.
Earlier, the National Forensic Service analyzed 64g of a suspected narcotic substance found in Mr. A's car and confirmed it to be Philopon (methamphetamine).
The police are investigating the deaths of Mr. A and a female employee in her 30s, Ms. B, who drank together at an entertainment venue in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. They drank together from around 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. on the 5th.
Mr. A was found dead inside his car in a nearby park around 8:30 a.m. on the same day while driving alone. Since suspected narcotics were found in Mr. A's car, it is believed that Mr. A put the suspected narcotic substance into Ms. B's drink.
