S-OIL promised to continuously support the scholarship funds until the bereaved children complete their studies.
S-OIL started the 'Hero Keeper' program in 2006 to discover and encourage social heroes who sacrifice themselves to protect others' lives and property despite the dangers at incident and accident sites in society.
The Coast Guard Hero Keeper activities are the third program following the Firefighter Hero and Citizen Hero programs. In 2013, S-OIL signed an agreement with the Korea Coast Guard to operate the ‘Coast Guard Hero Keeper’ program, which includes ▲ scholarship support for bereaved children of fallen coast guard officers ▲ medical expense support for injured coast guard officers ▲ awards for hero coast guard officers ▲ rest camps for coast guard couples ▲ consolation payments for families of fallen coast guard officers, among various other Coast Guard Hero Keeper initiatives.
