In an interview on KBS Radio's Choi Kyung-young's Choi Kang Sisa, Woo said regarding the government's promulgation of an enforcement decree to establish the Police Bureau, "In the past, the Minister of the Interior had jurisdiction over public security affairs, but that was removed," and added, "The issue of the Minister of the Interior and Safety directly overseeing the police was removed, and circumventing this by using an enforcement decree is a violation of the law."
Woo mentioned, "Those who participated in the democratization movement remember the unfortunate history of so-called human rights abuses when the Minister of the Interior oversaw the Security Headquarters," and said, "The torturers who caused the death of martyr Park Jong-cheol were all affiliated with the police, and the torturers who electrocuted former Chairman Kim Geun-tae were all part of the Security Headquarters." He continued, "This issue cannot be approached as a mere matter of the president trying to reorganize the government during his term under the general Government Organization Act," and said, "It is related to the painful history of democracy in the Republic of Korea and is an issue that cannot be compromised."
Regarding Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min's mention of reforming the Korean National Police University, Woo said, "Since the police oppose this issue, it seems like an attempt to divide graduates of the Police University and non-Police University graduates," and added, "Hasn't creating educational institutions to cultivate professional personnel been a long-standing policy of our government?" He further said, "If necessary, personnel appointments can appropriately consider both Police University and non-Police University graduates," and criticized, "It is a very shabby act for the minister to act in a way that attacks graduates from specific universities."

Regarding the text messages exchanged between President Yoon Seok-yeol and Kwon Seong-dong, Acting Representative and Floor Leader of the People Power Party, Woo said, "It appears to be very inappropriate," and criticized, "(President Yoon) is breaking all the promises made to the public behind their backs, and distrust is growing." He pointed out that the president is not keeping his pledge to refrain from interfering in party affairs.
