[Seoul District News] Dongjak-gu reorganizes existing safety disaster response system from department level to bureau level (Safety and Environment Bureau) to oversee all disaster-related tasks · Establishes 'Infectious Disease Management Division' within Public Health Center to strengthen ongoing infectious disease response system including COVID-19 · Advances major pledge projects such as Noryangjin Private Station and Olympic-daero entrance road · Creates 'Core Policy Promotion Team' and enhances video promotion and social media functions with new 'Public Relations Officer' position
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced that it has prepared an organizational restructuring plan reflecting the policy direction of an efficient "working organization" and will begin legislative notice from the 28th.
The plan focuses on supporting the execution power of the 8th elected district administration, establishing new organizations that can actively respond to changing administrative conditions and residents' administrative demands, and consolidating or abolishing departments with reduced or similar functions.
The main point of this organizational restructuring plan is to reorganize the existing safety and disaster response system, which was at the division level, into a bureau-level unit (Safety and Environment Bureau), encompassing all disaster-related tasks within the region and embodying the mayor's firm commitment to protect the safety and lives of residents. Additionally, the establishment of an "Infectious Disease Management Division" within the public health center aims to strengthen the ongoing infectious disease response system, including COVID-19.
To "change the map of Dongjak," the creation of a "Core Policy Promotion Team" to advance major pledge projects such as the Noryangjin Private Station and Olympic-daero Access Road, as well as the establishment of a "Public Relations Officer" with enhanced video promotion and social media functions, also attract attention.
For more effective policy support, the "Operations Support Division" will be reorganized directly under the Deputy Mayor, integrating dispersed urban development tasks, and the Urban Development Division will be strengthened into "Urban Maintenance Division 1" and "Urban Maintenance Division 2" to accelerate urban development projects.
Furthermore, departments will be reorganized considering the life cycle of welfare recipients, and by transferring functions such as CCTV-related tasks, resident cooperation tasks, regional architectural safety center, and library operations, barriers will be removed to improve work efficiency.
This organizational restructuring will be implemented on September 19th after a five-day legislative notice period for the amendment of the ordinance on the establishment of administrative organizations and the enforcement rules of the ordinance, followed by approval and confirmation by the district council in September.
