In this competition, about 40 elderly participants who passed the preliminary rounds from each region gathered to compete in the final round for the right to participate in the Seoul City Federation Janggi competition.
Notably, at the request of one elderly participant, an impromptu Janggi match was held with Mayor Lee.
Mayor Lee Gijae, who is gaining attention for his humble and proactive communication approach, said, “I promise to actively support various sports and cultural activities for the elderly so that they can enjoy leisure and health.”
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited Ahyeon Market on the 27th to continue street-level communication with residents.
As part of the resident meeting schedule held in Ahyeon-dong that day, Mayor Park took time to listen to the opinions of merchants and nearby residents at Ahyeon Market.
The “Open and Honest Resident Meeting,” which began on the 15th in Dohwa-dong to mark the launch of the 8th elected term, concluded on the 27th in Ahyeon-dong.
“Based on the integrated control system, we will build a more thorough social safety net to create a safe city where 570,000 residents of Gangseo District can live with peace of mind.”
Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Seoul’s Gangseo District, visited the ‘Smart City Gangseo Integrated Control Center’ on the morning of the 27th. The visit was to directly inspect the operation status of security CCTV, the intelligent (AI) selective control system, and to check if there are any blind spots in safety.
Mayor Kim headed to the ‘Comprehensive Situation Room,’ which integrates video information processing devices, and carefully examined the operation status by asking about vulnerable security areas in the region, the status of linked systems with related organizations, and how the control programs operate.
Along with this, he inspected every corner of the control center, including the information and communication room for collecting high-quality video information and ensuring network stability, as well as the promotional and experience center where one can experience and tour video information processing devices.
On this day, Mayor Kim encouraged the control center staff, saying, “I appreciate your hard work in preventing accidents by monitoring in real time without missing even the smallest situations on the screen.”
He added, “We will select the optimal locations for installing security CCTV to alleviate the anxiety of residents such as women, the elderly, and youth on their way home and expand the installations. Based on the integrated control system, we will build a more thorough social safety net to create a safe city where 570,000 Gangseo residents can live with peace of mind.”
