Sacheon-si Family Center Operates Senior Single-Person Household Program 'God Senior'
Promotion of New Project This Year: 'Support Project for Social Network Formation of Single-Person Households'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Family Center in Sacheon-si, Gyeongnam, announced on the 27th that it operated a single-person household program for the elderly generation called ‘God Senior.’
This project was promoted by Gyeongnam Province in 2022 as a new initiative called the ‘Single-Person Household Social Network Formation Support Project’ in response to the rapid increase in single-person households.
The Sacheon Family Center was responsible for operating the program in the Sacheon area.
In Sacheon-si, out of a total of 47,359 households, 15,604 are single-person households, accounting for 32.95%. This is 2.6% higher than the overall single-person household rate of 30.35% in Gyeongnam Province. This figure has been steadily increasing every year.
The theme of God Senior was cultural experiences of the 10s and 20s generations. It was conducted through seven detailed programs: ▲ New Word Golden Bell ▲ 1020 Tasting Group & Karaoke ▲ MZ Generation Emotional Picnic ▲ Capturing Today’s Me (Profile Photo Shoot) ▲ Letters from people in their 70s to those in their 20s, among others.
