Yongsan Visit by Democratic Party: "Police Control Administrative Coup... Yoon Must Withdraw Disciplinary Actions and Apologize to the Public"
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Regarding the Yoon Suk-yeol administration's push to establish a Police Bureau within the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Democratic Party of Korea launched a relentless offensive, calling it "Yoon Suk-yeol regime's excessive ambition to seize control of the police." The Democratic Party raised the level of their attack, stating, "The Yoon Suk-yeol faction, filled with close aides, is speaking in unison like an occupying force to take control of the police."
On the 26th, Park Hong-geun, floor leader, along with the floor leadership and members of the Police Control Countermeasures Committee, held a press conference across from the main gate of the Ministry of National Defense in Yongsan, saying, "We will concentrate parliamentary authority and party efforts to block the police takeover."
The Democratic Party said, "The Yoon administration has launched a police takeover using all sorts of expedients without any social consensus for police reform," and added, "The president must take full responsibility for all attempts to seize control of the police and apologize directly to the public."

Who else could form a public security state by mobilizing investigative agencies and administrative power, regardless of unconstitutionality and illegality?" They emphasized, "The president has only been temporarily delegated authority and is not the owner of state power."
The Democratic Party demanded, "Immediately halt the establishment of the Police Bureau, including the hasty approval of the illegal enforcement decree at the Cabinet meeting, and immediately withdraw the retaliatory disciplinary actions and inspection orders issued to the police."
