CU Supports '815 Run' with Korea Habitat... "Helping Descendants of Independence Activists"

CU is sponsoring the '2022 815 Run' for the third consecutive year, an event hosted by the nonprofit housing welfare organization Korea Habitat to support housing for descendants of independence activists.

The 815 Run is a charity marathon that reflects gratitude toward independence activists, widely promotes the significance of Liberation Day, and delivers a positive message of "It will be okay, Republic of Korea!" All proceeds from participation fees and corporate donations will be donated to Korea Habitat and used for housing environment improvement projects for the descendants of independence activists.
In this event, singer Sean will serve as the 815 Run ambassador and challenge completing an 81.5km marathon for the third consecutive year. Applications for the 815 Run can be made on the Korea Habitat website, and participants can choose their preferred location and time during August to run the selected distance. A total of 3,500 participants will be recruited, and depending on individual ability, they can choose from 3.1km, 4.5km, or 8.15km. The 3.1km symbolizes March 1st Movement, 4.5km represents the year Korea regained independence (1945), and 8.15km signifies Liberation Day.
