Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Intensifies Aggregate Quality Inspections... Regional On-Site Briefings Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 25th that it will hold regional on-site briefing sessions to ensure the smooth implementation of the newly introduced aggregate quality inspection system this year.
The aggregate quality inspection system is a system in which quality control specialized institutions designated by the Ministry of Land directly visit aggregate production sites to collect samples and conduct quality inspections to verify compliance with quality standards. Previously, aggregate extraction businesses conducted quality tests on their own and submitted test reports, which was criticized for its low effectiveness.
The briefing sessions are scheduled to be held separately in four regions from the 28th of this month to the 3rd of next month. Attendees include local government officials operating the system and aggregate extraction businesses.
The Ministry of Land plans to explain the main contents and regulations of the aggregate quality inspection system, guide the quality inspection work procedures, annual inspection plans, and the roles of stakeholders such as public officials and aggregate extraction businesses. In addition, it will listen to opinions from the field related to system operation and review and reflect applicable parts.
