This visit was an opportunity to confirm stable power supply and emergency measures in case of supply shortages due to the sharp increase in power demand during the summer. It was conducted to resolve local residents' distrust by identifying the cause of the recent blackout incident in Jeonggwan-eup and preparing measures to prevent recurrence.
As a sharp increase in power demand is expected due to the early heatwave in summer, Mayor Jeong discussed the current power operation status of Busan Jeonggwan Energy, alternative reserve power, and improvements in supply facilities to proactively respond to the power supply crisis.
He also reviewed the overall preventive measures against blackout incidents, including the regular safety inspection results by the Korea Electrical Safety Corporation and the status of facility management.
Jeong Jong-bok, mayor of Gijang-gun, expressed hope that “this summer, proactive countermeasures will be prepared to cope with the heatwave so that residents do not feel anxious about blackout incidents and smooth power supply measures will be established.”
