Seongnam-si Provides Free Health Checkups for Vulnerable Children
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will provide free health checkups for children from vulnerable groups.
On the 21st, Seongnam City announced that Medipia Medipium Bundang Clinic, a medical corporation, will sponsor 24.08 million KRW for health checkup costs for elementary school students among the children targeted by the 'Dream Start Project.' The city estimated the number of target children to be 301.
Dream Start is a project that provides customized integrated services for health, welfare, and education to vulnerable children (0 to 12 years old). The project targets 407 children from 295 households, with 10 child integrated case managers assigned.
The health checkups for the target children will be conducted at the clinic located in Seohyeon-dong, Bundang-gu, from the 25th of this month to the 5th of next month.
The examination items include 40 tests across 11 categories such as urine, blood, circulatory system, liver function, endocrine system, respiratory system, teeth, and spine.
The medical cost is approximately 80,000 KRW per person.
Once the examination results are available, the city plans to connect children to cooperating medical institutions according to their health status to support re-examinations or treatments.

Additionally, the city will support customized health care services such as participation in exercise classes linked with dietary control programs at local health centers and community resources, provision of eyeglasses, and dental treatment.
