Seoul City Wins Comprehensive Award as an Excellent Metropolitan Local Government in the Youth-Friendly Governance Awards
Organizations Contributing to Creating Social Environments for Youth Selected and Awarded... Now in Its 5th Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City announced on the 19th that it has been selected as an excellent youth-friendly metropolitan local government at the 2022 5th Youth-Friendly Legislative Awards and will receive the 'Grand Prize'.
The Youth-Friendly Legislative Awards is a system that selects and awards members of the National Assembly and local governments who have contributed to creating a social environment for youth. It is hosted by the Youth and Future Corporation and is now in its fifth year. The selection is based on the Youth-Friendly Index, which evaluates youth contributions in policy, legislation, and communication fields.
Seoul City was recognized for major achievements such as establishing the '2025 Seoul Youth Comprehensive Plan Youth Happiness Project,' implementing the largest-scale youth policies among local governments last year, and operating youth participation organizations and youth autonomous budgets.

Kim Cheol-hee, Head of the Future Youth Planning Group of Seoul City, said, “Seoul City's youth policies are maturing, and we will continue to strive to create a youth-friendly social environment to provide deeper support to youth who need more policies.” The awards ceremony will be held at the Youth Day Festival hosted by Youth and Future on September 17 at Olympic Park.
