Yongin City to Pilot 'Paperless Contract Work' System
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will pilot a "paperless contract process" starting next month, allowing documents related to self-initiated construction, service, and goods contracts to be submitted online.
Until now, companies had to visit both the project department and the contract department to submit documents twice during project commencement and completion, and there were many documents required out of custom, causing significant inconvenience. Yongin City also faced a heavy workload due to storing and organizing contract-related documents, along with the risk of document loss.
However, with the pilot introduction of the paperless contract process, companies can simply submit contract-related documents by accessing 'Munseo24' or 'Nara Marketplace.'
The city will also minimize the procedure of printing and storing contract documents on paper, storing most documents in the local finance system (e-Hojo).
This will significantly reduce paper usage.
According to the city, last year the total number of contracts was 12,632, with approximately 2.13 million sheets of paper used annually. If documents are stored electronically in a separate system, paper usage will be drastically reduced to 690,000 sheets.

A city official stated, "By fully transitioning contract document submissions online, we expect to improve convenience for companies that have experienced inconvenience and greatly enhance the quality and efficiency of administrative services." He added, "We will pilot the system in the second half of the year, gather feedback from contracting companies and employees, and ensure the system is fully established starting next year."
