On the 18th, Hyundai Rotem announced plans to conduct 'Organizational Culture Empathy Activities' involving employees and their families from the second half of the year until the end of the year. The initiative was designed to actively practice the seven behavioral guidelines called the 'Smart Way' that employees should follow. The guidelines include punctuality, proactive communication, and autonomous execution.
First, on the 30th of last month, a day before the company’s anniversary, a metaverse event was held to boost the morale of employees and their families. The metaverse space was divided into four zones: OX Quiz Zone, Indoor Tour Zone, Outdoor Tour and Treasure Hunt Zone, and Racing Zone. The maximum number of simultaneous participants that day was 223.
The event was conducted by dividing participants into four groups, each experiencing the different zones. In the OX Quiz Zone, participants solved OX quizzes to learn about the company together with their families. In the Indoor Tour Zone, where major products and technologies of each business division (Rail Solution, Defense Solution, Eco Plant) were exhibited, families were able to tour Hyundai Rotem’s virtual headquarters.
In the Outdoor Tour and Racing Zones, a treasure hunt event with prizes and a racing game for children were held respectively. An employee who won first place in the racing game said, "My child said that through this event, they understood what kind of company their dad works for, which made me proud," adding, "It was a meaningful day where I could feel pride in the company."
This month, Hyundai Rotem plans to hold the 'Change Leader Awards' to select leaders who are leading organizational culture changes by example. Next month, the company will recognize team members who adhere to the organizational culture behavioral guidelines in their daily work with the 'Change Practitioner' award, and conduct 'Organizational Empathy Activities' where members freely select themes and participate in cultural experience activities to foster mutual communication within each organization.
At the end of the year, programs involving families will be conducted. Until October, a 'Healing Program' will be operated to allow employees who have worked diligently despite the spread of COVID-19 and their families to go camping and take train trips. In December, a special one-day class program called 'Dad is a Rotem Man!' will be held, where employees visit their children’s elementary schools to introduce Hyundai Rotem. Additionally, the 'Work & Balance Office' program will provide free condo accommodations and remote work opportunities to long-term vacationers, change leaders, practitioners, and other eligible participants.
