Gwangju Dong-gu Holds Pureun Only Market for "Community Revitalization"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the ‘Pureun Only Market’ on the 16th at the Pureungil Square in Gyelim-dong to create a vibrant village community.
This event, prepared as part of the Pureungaemi Village Saetteul Project, will be operated under two themes: the ‘ON Market’ to promote ethical and value consumption, and Pureungaemi Village ‘Ri (里)’, which contains stories of village urban regeneration.
The ON Market will be operated as the ‘Gatgachi Market’, where young entrepreneurs who have been running the ‘Pureun Pureum Market’ at Pureungil Square and social economy enterprises in the Gwangju area participate together.
At the ON Market, the ‘Again, Spring Market’ will also be presented, exhibiting products made by residents who participated in urban regeneration programs conducted by the Seonam-dong Urban Regeneration New Deal Project Field Support Center and the Donggye Village Saetteul Project Field Support Center, which are actively promoting urban regeneration projects.
Pureungaemi Village ‘Ri (里)’ will be set up as a place for resident communication and harmony by introducing the Pureungaemi Village Saetteul Project and exhibiting the results of the village club fostering program ‘Bbokjjak Bbokjjak Nolli-teo’ that has been underway since May.
