Gyeonggi-do Conducts Safety Inspection of Golf Practice Range Steel Towers
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will conduct safety inspections on golf practice range towers across the province from the 18th of this month until the end of next month to prepare for strong winds.
The inspection targets are 159 operating golf practice ranges within the province.
The main inspection items include ▲whether the structures are shaking or tilting ▲the condition of support structures and main structural parts such as corrosion, bolt tightening, painting, and rust prevention ▲management status of protective nets.
The inspections will be conducted together with private experts in structural fields.
The province will especially use drones to closely examine the upper parts of towers that are difficult to access directly.
A provincial official stated, "There is a risk of collapse for aging golf practice range towers when strong winds blow," adding, "To prevent this in advance, inspections will be carried out until the end of next month."
