Gyeonggawon Signs MOU with Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital for Medical Field Robot Demonstration Cooperation
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency has partnered with Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital to collaborate on robot verification in medical settings.
On the 13th, Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency announced that on the 12th, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for large-scale robot verification in medical fields at a meeting room in Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital.
The two institutions were recently selected as a consortium in the social problem-solving sector of the "AI and 5G-based Large-scale Robot Convergence Model Verification Project," hosted by the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
The signing ceremony was held with the attendance of Yoo Seung-kyung, Director of Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, and Yoo Kyung-ho, Director of Hallym University Hospital.
Going forward, the two institutions will cooperate in areas such as reducing medical staff workload through verification of various types and multiple robots inside and outside the hospital, and establishing an emergency medical system by distributing robots to home care patients.
Additionally, Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency will continuously promote activities such as discovering robot regulations in the medical service sector and holding performance forums to expand the outcomes of the project.

Yoo Seung-kyung, Director of Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency, stated, "Through this MOU, we expect to solve various problems in medical settings by applying the latest robot technologies," and added, "We plan to actively support, together with Gyeonggi-do Province, the application of the achievements gained in this process to local medical sites and the robot industry."
