This organizing committee consists of 12 members of the organizing committee and 12 members of the operating committee, centered on industrial, academic, and research figures including Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, Kwon Ki-chang, Mayor of Andong City and co-chairman, and Ahn Jae-yong, CEO of SK Bioscience.
The organizing (operating) committee will play a role in deciding major matters such as the expo and conference, as well as supporting and advising on overall event operations to ensure the successful hosting of the expo.
The inaugural general meeting proceeded with the 2022 Bio-Life Expo hosting plan, awarding of appointment letters, screening of promotional videos, and a performance for the successful hosting of the Bio-Life Expo.
The Gyeongbuk Bio-Life Expo will be held for three days from October 13 to 15 at Saemaeul Square, Dongrak Hall within the provincial government building, and throughout Andong City.
It will also be divided into ▲Bio Company Expo ▲Bio Future Forum, Vaccine Industry Forum and Conference ▲Company presentations and export investment consultation meetings.
The Bio Company Expo will be conducted through experience booths in various fields such as promotion and product exhibition of participating companies.
The Bio Future Forum and Conference, inviting experts from industry, academia, and research in the bio field as speakers, plan to grasp domestic and international bio-industry trends and strengthen overseas networks in research and technology fields.
Additionally, the company consultation meetings will be held as presentations and export consultation meetings targeting domestic and international buyers.
Governor Lee said, “Through the composition of this organizing and operating committee, we will thoroughly prepare for the successful hosting of the expo,” adding, “As research and interest in vaccines, therapeutics, and new bio industries have increased due to COVID-19, we will actively foster the rapidly expanding bio-industry as a future growth engine through the Gyeongbuk Bio-Life Expo.”
The bio-industry has recently been recognized as a representative food industry of the 4th Industrial Revolution era due to COVID-19 and is rapidly expanding through technological development and convergence.
The OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) predicts that the full-fledged bioeconomy era will open around 2030.
