'Heatwave 119 Safety Countermeasures Headquarters' Activated, Establishing Deployment Posture to Prepare for Heat-Related Illness Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] The Gyeonggi-do Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters is implementing comprehensive fire safety measures to prepare for the heatwave, including the activation of the 'Heatwave 119 Safety Countermeasures Headquarters.'
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters plans to collect and analyze various disaster information related to heatwaves in the northern Gyeonggi region when a heatwave advisory is issued or when there is a risk of damage due to high temperatures, and will support rescue and emergency medical activities.
Proactive water supply support activities will also be carried out in livestock farms and energy-vulnerable areas.
All emergency vehicles in northern Gyeonggi will be equipped at all times with ice vests, electrolyte solutions, and water sprays to provide emergency treatment for heat-related illnesses before transporting patients to hospitals. The Emergency Situation Management Center will also provide medical guidance and consultation, including initial emergency treatment instructions for heat-related illnesses.
Additionally, preparations will be made for safety dispatches such as removing beehives, strengthening the operation of the 119 Citizen Lifeguard Corps, and establishing an emergency response system for large-scale power outages.
