From 6 AM to 10 PM at Will... NHN Introduces New Work System Maximizing Autonomy
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] NHN announced on the 12th that it will introduce a new work system, including the abolition of core time and the establishment of off days, to maximize the autonomy of each employee's work.
The company explained that this reorganization is based on a hybrid work model combining remote work with the company's work foundation, focusing on balancing immersion in work and rest according to individual working conditions and lifestyles. It is scheduled to be implemented from August 1 and will be applied to NHN as well as NHN Payco, which operates the simple payment service 'Payco.'
First, the existing core time system, which operated as focused working hours (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.), will be abolished. This is a measure to significantly increase work freedom in a situation where the collaboration system among members has been advanced.
The Purple Time system, which allows flexible adjustment of working hours, has also become more flexible, enabling employees to freely set their working hours according to their circumstances without a minimum working hour restriction between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
An 'Off Day' system, where employees can design their own rest, has also been newly established. Within the monthly working hours, employees can work more intensively when there is a lot of work or when concentration is good, and when the work schedule is relaxed or the condition is not good, they can designate an off day to rest sufficiently at any time. For example, if planning to work 10 hours a day for 4 days a week, one day can be designated as an off day to rest completely.
Along with this, a remote work system will be operated in parallel, with a 'My Office' system allowing employees to work anywhere they want every Friday.
Jung Woo-jin, CEO of NHN, said, "The biggest goal of this reorganization was to harmonize efficient performance creation and employee satisfaction according to the characteristics of organizational operation," adding, "Based on the basic philosophy of respecting employees' autonomy and responsibility, we will continue to develop better work systems by working together with employees."

Meanwhile, NHN's group companies, such as NHN Cloud and NHN DooRey, which are technology-based research centers, have introduced a work-from-home-oriented work system, operating work styles optimized for each organization by reflecting the characteristics of the organization and the working environment of employees.
