Foreigners and Institutions 'Sell-off' Widens KOSPI Decline... Intraday Break Below 2300 Level
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Due to selling pressure from foreigners and institutions, the KOSPI index fell below the 2300 mark during the trading session.
As of 3:06 PM on the 6th, the KOSPI index was recorded at 2290.58, down 51.20 points (2.19%) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 2330.11, down 11.67 points (0.50%) from the previous day. It then dropped to 2299.00 around 2:06 PM before slightly rising but ultimately widening its losses.
While foreigners and institutions both recorded net purchases on the previous trading day, they sold approximately 359 billion KRW and 536.6 billion KRW respectively on this day. In contrast, individual investors were the sole net buyers with purchases worth 861.9 billion KRW.
