Seoul City to Recruit 200 Youths for 'Job Mentoring' with Public Institution Employees
28 Employees from 10 Seoul Public Institutions Step Up as Mentors for Youth
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Volunteer Center announced on the 6th that it is recruiting 200 young mentees to participate in the online job mentoring program "Cheongchun Job(talk)" with 28 employees from Seoul public institutions until the 31st.
"Cheongchun Job(talk)" is a mentoring program where employee volunteers are matched in small groups with young people preparing to enter society to share knowledge and experience about jobs. Employee volunteers meet young people as "pre-experienced seniors" who have gone through youth, "life seniors" who can share concerns, and "experts" with knowledge and experience in related fields.
This mentoring program is supported by 10 Seoul public corporations and affiliated organizations for young people, including ▲ Seoul Tourism Foundation, ▲ Seoul Metro, ▲ Seoul Digital Foundation, ▲ Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, ▲ Seoul Facilities Corporation, ▲ Seoul Volunteer Center, ▲ Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation, ▲ Seoul Women and Family Foundation, ▲ Seoul Institute, and ▲ Seoul Scholarship Foundation.
The mentoring will be conducted online using Zoom on July 17-18. First, a special lecture to enhance understanding of the "business of Seoul public institutions" will be held, followed by small group sessions where one employee volunteer and 4-6 young people are matched in 19 job fields for 90 minutes. The mentoring will proceed in the order of self-introduction through sharing participation motivation and expectations of employees and youth, job introduction, job environment and vision, preparation methods, sharing of employee knowledge and experiences, Q&A, messages to youth, and mutual sharing of participation impressions.
