The city announced on the 4th that it will establish and operate a rapid vehicle flooding alert system at seven low-lying riverside parking lots within the jurisdiction.
This system is applied to seven riverside parking lots?Ppurigongwon Parking Lot, Munchang Market Underpass Parking Lot, Gwanjeo Public Parking Lot, Daedeok Bridge Parking Lot, Dunsan Bridge (Upper), Dunsan Bridge (Lower), and Hyundo Bridge Upstream Parking Lot?with the aim of preventing vehicle flooding in these parking lots during heavy rain.
The system analyzes weather information, water level data, and disaster footage (CCTV) to predict the possibility of vehicle flooding and automatically blocks entry to the parking lots.
It also sends text messages to vehicle owners’ mobile phones to automatically notify them of the danger, minimizing damage, and provides guidance on flooding situations and evacuation locations through voice notification devices and electronic display boards.
