[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Lee Dal-hee, the Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs who will serve as the economic control tower for Gyeongbuk Province in the 8th local government term, has skipped the inauguration ceremony and immediately started focusing on the livelihood economy.
Deputy Governor Lee began his official duties on the afternoon of the 1st without a separate inauguration ceremony, holding an "Emergency Economic Countermeasures Meeting."
Presiding over the meeting, Deputy Governor Lee explained the reason for canceling the inauguration ceremony, saying, "Given the current situation, it is a priority to address the extremely difficult livelihood issues caused by over two years of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, high oil prices, soaring inflation, and global high interest rates."
He added, "As an urgent measure to quickly resolve the difficulties faced by the residents even by a single day, we plan to review all possible measures including price stabilization, export support, financial assistance for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners, and support for vulnerable groups."
He continued, "To properly respond to this crisis, we must listen to voices from the field and monitor the situation to swiftly implement policies that residents can tangibly feel. We will establish an organic cooperation system among related agencies to respond quickly and efficiently," he urged.
Before attending the Emergency Economic Countermeasures Meeting, he visited the press room and the provincial government employees' union office to request active cooperation in resolving major provincial administrative issues.
In his inauguration message posted through the internal administrative network, Deputy Governor Lee stated, "This is a very important time to solidly prepare for the 8th local government administration," emphasizing, "The local era we must open is one where local governments take the initiative with innovative policies, not one led by the central government."
He added, "Let Gyeongbuk become a model for the local era and an engine for creating a new Republic of Korea. If we unite as one team, from the governor to each employee with ability and passion, we can overcome any difficulties."
