Yun Byeong-tae, Mayor of Naju, "Making Naju a Happy Place to Live and a Leading Top City"
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Yoon Byung-tae, mayor of Naju, Jeollanam-do, held an inauguration ceremony on the 1st and took a strong step toward a "livable and happy Naju, a leading top Naju."
The city announced that on the 1st, it held the inauguration ceremony of Mayor Yoon Byung-tae of Naju for the 8th term of direct election under the theme "A New Beginning of Naju with Citizens" at the Naju Comprehensive Sports Park Multipurpose Gymnasium.
About 1,000 people, including citizens, hometown residents, former and current politicians, heads of institutions and social organizations, and those who wished to attend through online applications, gathered to celebrate the first voyage of Mayor Yoon Byung-tae's 8th term toward a new Naju.
Before the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Yoon started his first schedule at 8 a.m. by paying respects at the Memorial Tower and Jeongryeolsa Shrine with the vice mayor and senior officials.
The inauguration ceremony proceeded in the order of opening and national ceremony, introduction of career, oath of office, inaugural address, screening of hope videos from various citizens, congratulatory speeches and videos, and performances.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, "I thank the citizens who entrusted me with this heavy responsibility last month on the 1st with the desire for change and innovation in Naju," adding, "I feel a heavy responsibility and grave mission to urgently solve Naju's pending issues and create a new Naju."
He then proposed the goals for the 8th term of direct election: "Prosperous Cultural Tourism," where the millennium-old city’s history and culture blossom and beautiful scenery is loved; "Respected Agriculture and Rural Areas," where agriculture and livestock industries are honored and rural villages regain vitality; and "Future-leading Vital Economy," leading Korea’s new energy industry and warming neighborhood commercial districts.
He also promised "Premium Education and Customized Welfare," aiming for the best educational environment and a welfare community, and "Citizen-centered Innovative Administration," actively responding to citizens' demands.
Mayor Yoon emphasized, "I will carry out performance-oriented administration to make the city hall work well, participatory administration where citizens are the true owners of the city hall, and principled administration that opens a hopeful future for the Naju community," adding, "I will cherish every voice of the citizens to create a unified and integrated Naju."
He urged public officials to practice proactive and problem-solving administration and promised pride and fulfillment in public service through the establishment of a fair personnel system focused on performance.
Mayor Yoon said, "Please listen to the voices of citizens on site, reflect them in administration, and if citizens' demands align with public interest and are reasonable, actively change regulations and procedures to handle them," adding, "I will not hesitate to take responsibility, and I will ensure fair opportunities and proper rewards for public officials who improve their skills and work hard."
