'Diagnosed in 70 Minutes'... JinsLab Completes Development of Monkeypox Diagnostic Kit
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] JinsLab, a molecular diagnostics specialist and a subsidiary of GC (Green Cross Holdings), announced on the 30th that it has developed a diagnostic kit, the 'GCdia Monkeypox Virus Detection Kit,' which can confirm monkeypox infection within 70 minutes.
JinsLab created a product that can accurately and rapidly detect only the monkeypox virus based on its proprietary enzyme production and multiplex polymerase chain reaction (multiplex PCR) technology development expertise. The company explained that, despite having a shorter testing time compared to competitors, it confirmed through various performance tests that the analytical sensitivity and specificity are high.
Additionally, the kit was developed to broadly detect Orthopoxvirus genus viruses, to which the monkeypox virus belongs, while also verifying whether the detected virus includes the monkeypox virus.
