Kia Unveils Design of ‘The New Seltos’
The First Product Improvement Model... Reflecting Design Philosophy of Opposite United
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Kia unveiled the interior and exterior images of the urban sports utility vehicle (SUV) The New Seltos on the 30th.
The New Seltos is an improved model of the Seltos, released three years after its launch in July 2019. Since its release, it has established itself as a dominant player in the market as Kia's representative compact SUV.
The New Seltos reflects two of the five attributes of Kia's new design philosophy, Opposites United (creative fusion of contrasting concepts): 'innovative attempts toward the future' and 'technology for human life.' The exterior design inherits the powerful and dynamic style of the existing Seltos while applying design elements that highlight a futuristic sensibility.
The front features a mesh radiator grille. The rear also applies the Star Map signature lighting horizontally, similar to the front. Backup lamps and rear reflectors with the same concept were applied to complete a unified design. The lower bumper is finished in glossy black color.
Inside The New Seltos, a panoramic display connects a 10.25-inch cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system screen to enhance visibility.
Equipped with advanced convenience features such as an integrated controller and an electronic shift dial (SBW), it offers a best-in-class vehicle experience. Additionally, the dashboard features a modern and bold center garnish that inherits the horizontally oriented sculptural heritage.
A Kia official stated, "The New Seltos is reborn with best-in-class product competitiveness and urban sensibility, resulting in a more solid and sophisticated design," adding, "As a confident and differentiated urban SUV, it will continue to lead the highly competitive compact SUV market."
