View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea International Trade Association announced on the 28th that it signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding for the Activation of the Big Data Industry and Promotion of Digital Transformation (DX)' with the Korea Data Industry Association at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. On the same day, a 'Big Data Trend Seminar' and 'DX Strategy Consulting' were also held.
Based on the agreement, the two organizations will jointly promote sharing information on big data technology and hosting seminars, training specialized personnel in big data technology, and jointly discovering excellent big data supply and demand companies.
At the seminar held afterward, Shin Seung-kwan, Executive Director of KITA, said, "In business so far, technology and patents have played a key role, but in the future, industrial data will take their place."
Ko Yoon-seok, Head of the Intelligent Data Division at the National Information Society Agency, said, "Currently, Korea is building industry-specific data through the Public Data Portal and AI Hub, and the private sector has just begun to actively utilize it. Going forward, the shift from data production and accumulation to distribution and utilization will accelerate."

During the consulting session, specialized big data consulting firms provided advice for companies to establish DX strategies, such as cost reduction through improvement of facility operations based on big data.
