On the morning of the 28th, Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, stated at the floor strategy meeting held at the National Assembly, "The Democratic Party needs to regain its reason," and added, "They should return to the spirit of the July 23, 2021, bipartisan agreement that received applause from the public."
On the same day, the Democratic Party decided to submit a request to convene the July extraordinary session unilaterally. In response, Floor Leader Kwon expressed deep concern, saying, "I am very worried that this might be a repeat of the first half of the 2020 National Assembly," and pointed out, "Since the opening of the National Assembly, the only bad precedent of unilaterally electing the Speaker without bipartisan agreement occurred in the first half of the 21st National Assembly. This was because the Democratic Party monopolized the Speaker and the Judiciary Committee Chairperson with its overwhelming 180 seats."
He further criticized, "There has never been a single instance of convening a plenary session unilaterally without bipartisan agreement. If the Democratic Party unilaterally convenes the plenary session, it will be a signal for the restart of legislative dictatorship," and added, "It tramples on the spirit of cooperation that our National Assembly has upheld."

He also said, "Even after consecutive public judgments in the presidential and local elections, it seems the Democratic Party still does not fear public sentiment," and warned, "Although they claimed reform, it was just a deception. If the Democratic Party again engages in legislative rampage and obstructs the government at every turn, the government will not be able to work properly, and the livelihood of the people will face even greater crisis."
