KT Launches 'KT Flexline', a NaaS-Based Enterprise Dedicated Line Service
Application of SD-WAN Technology in Broadband Networks
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] KT announced on the 27th that it will launch ‘KT Flexline,’ a dedicated corporate line in the form of Network as a Service (NaaS) that enhances flexibility and security for corporate customers' digital transformation (DX).
‘KT Flexline’ is a service based on SD-WAN (Software Defined Wide Area Network). It applies virtualized network technology implemented through software on a wide area network.
When using KT Flexline with SD-WAN applied, bandwidth can be freely controlled on a daily basis according to the work environment or network usage status. For example, KT explains that if temporary line speed expansion is needed for large-scale video conferences, webinars, or high-capacity video backups, the line speed can be changed without contract modification.
To enhance convenience for corporate customers, KT plans to provide functions for changing line bandwidth and subscribing or unsubscribing to additional services through an online platform for KT Flexline in the second half of this year. Service monitoring and management support through the KT operation center will also be available.
When subscribing to the KT Flexline service, security features such as firewall and VPN (Virtual Private Network) through the included Flexline terminal can be used, and remote monitoring and control of lines and users are also possible. By additionally selecting the optional service ‘Cloud Direct,’ various cloud services and work environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft (MS) Azure can be directly linked.
