[Weather] Most of the Jangma Rain Stops by Morning... Beware of Localized Heavy Rain and Strong Winds
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On Friday the 24th, the entire country will be cloudy with rain until the morning. Expected rainfall amounts are 30-100mm in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Yeongseo, Chungcheong region, northern Gyeongbuk, Jeolla region, Gyeongnam region, and Jeju Island (over 150mm in parts of Jeonnam and Jeju), and 10-60mm in Gangwon Yeongdong, southern Gyeongbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo.
Most of the rain will stop in the morning (9 AM to 12 PM), but it will continue until the afternoon (12 PM to 6 PM) along the southern coast and until night (9 PM to 12 AM) on Jeju Island. Since there will be many places with very heavy rain concentrated in a short time, precautions should be taken against underground road isolation, lowland flooding, river overflow, and rapid currents. Until the afternoon, very strong winds with gusts around 70 km/h (20 m/s) are expected on the west coast, southern coast of Jeonnam, coastal areas of Gyeongsang, and Jeju Island, and strong winds with gusts around 55 km/h (15 m/s) will blow in other regions, so special attention should be paid to facility management and safety accidents.
The morning low temperature is forecast to be 19-25°C, and the daytime high temperature 24-33°C. Due to smooth atmospheric dispersion and the influence of precipitation, fine dust levels will be 'good' across all regions. There will be fog in coastal areas and Jeju Island until the morning, so caution is advised for traffic safety.
