[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Kia, Jeju Air, Korea Railroad Corporation, Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, and the nonprofit organization Green Light announced on the 23rd that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote travel for people with disabilities.
According to the agreement, support for travel for people with disabilities through Chorok Travel, a social contribution initiative by Kia, will be significantly expanded. Starting in September, the companies and organizations that signed the agreement will operate a free travel program to popular tourist destinations for 32 people (8 families with disabilities) every month.
The program includes free rental of vehicles exclusively for people with disabilities, round-trip airfare to Jeju (Jeju Air), round-trip train tickets to Gangneung and Busan (KORAIL), and accommodation vouchers (Hanwha Resorts Seorak, Yongin, Haeundae, Jeju). Reservations can be made in advance from next month on the Kia Chorok Travel website, and applicants will be screened based on the type of disability and their stories.
