Yeonggwang-gun Participates in Naenara Travel Expo... Promoting Tourist Attractions and Local Specialties

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 20th that it actively promoted visits to Yeonggwang-gun to domestic and international visitors by participating in the 'NaeNara Travel Expo' held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul for four days from the 16th to the 19th.

Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Tourism Association Central Council, this expo is the largest travel expo in Korea, consisting of over 150 institutions nationwide and more than 270 booths.

This year, under the theme '#Depart! #Freely! #ToMyCountry!', the expo was successfully concluded with the hope that citizens, who had difficulty traveling due to COVID-19 over the past three years, would freely travel within their country after returning to normal life.

At the expo, the county actively conducted promotional marketing including advertising representative tourist attractions, local foods, and specialties, distributing souvenirs and flyers for the 22nd Yeonggwang Bulgapsan Sangsa Flower Festival, and holding a tourism information chatbot KakaoTalk friend-adding event.

More than 1,500 people visited the Yeonggwang-gun promotional booth alone, and the number of users of the tourism information chatbot, which held the event, surged by about 400 from 226 to 642, achieving significant promotional effects.

A county official said, "Through the NaeNara Travel Expo, which we participated in for the first time in three years, we gained an opportunity to promote Yeonggwang-gun tourism domestically and internationally, allowing the tourism industry, which had been stagnant due to COVID-19, to take off again."

He added, "We plan to continuously promote at expos with high ripple effects by developing promotional items to widely publicize the various charms of the county."
