North Korea Claims Over 20,000 New COVID-19 Fever Cases for Fourth Consecutive Day... Total Exceeds 4.6 Million
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] North Korea claimed that the number of new fever patients suspected of having COVID-19 remained in the 20,000 range for the fourth consecutive day.
Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) cited the National Emergency Epidemic Prevention Headquarters on the 18th, reporting that from 6 PM on the 16th to 24 hours later, the number of newly confirmed fever patients nationwide was approximately 20,360. During this period, the number of recovered fever patients was about 24,920. Statistics on new deaths, cumulative deaths, and fatality rates as of the previous day were not disclosed.
From the end of April until the afternoon of the previous day, the total number of fever patients nationwide was approximately 4,601,790. Among them, about 4,565,320 had recovered, and about 36,390 were still receiving treatment.

The scale of new fever patients in North Korea peaked at around 392,920 on the 15th of last month, then decreased to the 200,000 range from the 16th to the 20th, and to the 100,000 range from the 21st to the 26th, showing a downward trend. Since the 30th of last month, the number has consistently remained below 100,000 and has now decreased to the 20,000 range.
