Gwangju Seo-gu Provides 'Public Officials Conflict of Interest Prevention Act' Training to All Employees
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 16th that it conducted education on the Public Officials' Conflict of Interest Prevention Act for all employees.
The education was conducted by inviting a specialist lecturer in the field of integrity to help understand the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, which came into effect on May 19.
Seo-gu streamed the education session in real-time via PC video conference so that all employees belonging to the district office and the dong administrative welfare centers could participate.
The lecture covered the legislative background of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, the 10 behavioral standards public officials must comply with, and sanctions for violations as the main topics.
In addition, the education was conducted focusing on actual cases of conflict of interest situations that public officials may encounter during their work to enhance understanding.
A Seo-gu official said, "Through this education, we hope to remind public officials of the mindset they should have and raise awareness, thereby fostering a fair and clean public service society," and added, "We will continue to provide various opportunities for education in the field of integrity to improve public officials' awareness of integrity and promote an anti-corruption culture."
