Vice Chairman Lee and ASML executives extensively discussed ▲future semiconductor technology trends ▲semiconductor market outlook ▲measures to ensure smooth supply of EUV lithography equipment essential for implementing fine processes for next-generation semiconductor production ▲and the mid- to long-term business directions of both companies.
This visit marks Vice Chairman Lee’s first trip to ASML headquarters in the Netherlands in 20 months since October 2020. It was confirmed that Samsung Electronics’ DS Division head Kyung Kye-hyun attended the meeting.
Samsung Electronics plans to enhance its competitiveness in the foundry sector and further expand its "super-gap" in the memory semiconductor field by advancing next-generation semiconductor production technologies including EUV through ▲expanded semiconductor research and development and investment ▲strengthened technological cooperation with ASML.
On the 15th (local time), Vice Chairman Lee visited imec, Europe’s largest comprehensive semiconductor research institute located in Leuven, Belgium. He met with CEO Luc Van den Hove to discuss ▲the latest technologies in the semiconductor field ▲and research and development directions.
