KT&G Holds Eco-Friendly Exhibition for Environment Month at Sangsangmadang Daechi Gallery

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] KT&G announced on the 15th that it will present a special exhibition titled ‘My Green Wonderland,’ conveying a message of environmental protection in celebration of Environment Month.
The exhibition will be held free of charge until the 8th of next month at the Sangsangmadang Daechi Gallery located on the first floor of the KT&G Seoul building. This event is the third eco-friendly special exhibition following ‘Tears of the Polar Bear’ held at Sangsangmadang Daechi in June last year and ‘Drawing the Future of the Sea’ held at Sangsangmadang Busan in September. Artist Jeong Min-je, who participated in this exhibition, created six works that recycle waste materials discarded in daily life, such as used bedding and fabric scraps, into plant-shaped artworks.
KT&G is also conducting the ‘Eco Practice Pledge’ campaign together with its health functional food brand ‘Jeonggwanjang.’ Visitors who take photos of the artworks at the exhibition site and upload their own environmental protection practices on Instagram will be entered into a draw to receive the ‘Hong Sam Ton Gold Eco Package’ product. An event giving away eco-friendly cup coasters will also be held.
In addition, Sangsangmadang is running various eco-friendly programs utilizing the advantages of its complex cultural and artistic spaces. At Sangsangmadang Hongdae, a paper cup art exhibition will begin on the 16th. At Sangsangmadang Nonsan, a solar-powered mood lamp making event will be held on the 18th of the same month, and at Sangsangmadang Chuncheon, a pop-up exhibition recycling leather will open from the 21st.

A KT&G official said, “We planned this exhibition to showcase artworks that recycle materials commonly discarded in daily life in order to spread awareness of the importance of resource circulation and environmental protection,” adding, “We will continue to strive for eco-friendly management by promoting various environmental cleanup activities in the future.”
