Chonnam National University Hospital Holds Briefing on 'AI-Based Digital Bio-Medical Industry Advancement Project'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chonnam National University Hospital and Gwangju Metropolitan City are making every effort to leap forward as an AI-based digital medical industry hub city.
Chonnam National University Hospital announced on the 14th that it will hold a briefing session on the "Hospital-Centered AI-Based Digital Biomedical Industry Advancement Project" on the 16th.
This project, supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Gwangju City, will invest a total of 600 million KRW by 2024.
From the existing biomedical industry focused on materials and components, the project aims to establish infrastructure and advance the industry based on cutting-edge technologies related to the 4th Industrial Revolution such as AI, 3D printing, and medical big data analysis.
Through this, the goal is to strengthen the competitiveness of local companies and foster small and strong enterprises.
Beneficiary companies will be recruited until the 30th, and together with Gwangju Technopark Foundation and Chonnam National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, support will be provided for ▲ development and consulting of clinical linkage technologies using medical big data ▲ prototype production of medical devices and business commercialization support ▲ preclinical and efficacy evaluations.
Chonnam National University Hospital plans to provide guidance on the announcement for recruiting beneficiary companies participating in the 2022 corporate support project and hold a Q&A session about the program through this project briefing session.
Director Cho Hyunho (Professor of Otorhinolaryngology) said, “We will strive to establish a foundation that can lead the advancement of digital biomedical industry infrastructure and the growth of local medical companies through corporate support based on a collaborative network.”
