Regional Innovation Cases Driving Changes in Residents' Lives, Spreading Nationwide
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 14th that it has selected 90 local government project plans submitted for the ‘2022 Resident Life Innovation Case Expansion Support Project,’ expanding them to 59 local governments and providing 2.8 billion KRW in national funds along with customized expert consultation.
The Resident Life Innovation Case Expansion Support Project is a program led by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety that carefully selects regional innovation cases verified through various evaluations and excellent case competitions, invites local governments wishing to adopt these cases to apply, and provides administrative and financial support to ensure that the selected innovation cases take root in the region.
This year, after public online screening and expert on-site verification, 34 cases were finally selected as expansion target cases, including ▲the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Jeju Province’s ‘Safe Parking Number Using Information Pattern (QR Code)’ ▲Busan Geumjeong-gu’s ‘Reducing Management Fees↓, Increasing Communication↑ Creating Happy Apartments,’ among others.
The Ministry explained that to expand regional innovation cases with high resident satisfaction and proven regional impact nationwide, it conducted a call for applications from local governments wishing to introduce these cases, and after reviewing the local government project plans, selected 59 local governments.
