Democratic Party's 'Chireokhoe' Dissolution Debate Faces Opposition... Woo Won-shik Says "Faction Dissolution Is an Alibi for Blaming Others"
Jeong Cheong-rae: "There Should Be More Healthy Factions Competing in Livelihood and Reform"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Although there have been calls to abolish factions within the Democratic Party of Korea, such as 'Cheoreomhoe,' there are also opinions that blame should not be placed on factions but rather on emphasizing values.

He added, "I firmly believe that is not the case."
Woo said, "It is close to escapism to shift the responsibility for failure onto the attitudes and tendencies of some supporters labeled as fandoms," and "It is also absurd that everyone is loudly calling for the dissolution of factions as if factional politics were the cause of failure."
He explained, "Within a political party, values and lines cannot all be the same, and even if they were, the methods and ways of implementation can differ," adding, "It is natural for alliances and separations to occur based on such differences."
Woo argued, "Rather, dissolving factions without evaluating values and lines is an alibi and a way to evade responsibility," and stated, "Responsible politics means boldly presenting a proper evaluation report under the names of Democracy 4.0, Minpyeongryeon, The Future, and Cheoreomhoe."

Democratic Party lawmaker Jeong Cheong-rae also claimed on SNS, "Factions do not disappear just because they declare dissolution, and even if they declare dissolution themselves, they cannot tell others to dissolve or not." Jeong said, "Cheoreomhoe is a political factional group formed by political associations," and expressed hope that "many healthy factions competing in terms of public livelihood and reform from the standpoint of political factions will emerge."
