Kakao Mobility Launches 'Kakao T Air International' Service
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Kakao Mobility announced on the 13th that it is partnering with travel service provider Tide Square to launch the ‘Kakao T Air International’ service. With this, Kakao Mobility has significantly expanded its service scope from domestic flights to international flights just one year after the launch of Kakao T Air.
Kakao T Air International helps users check and manage the entire process of overseas travel all at once within the Kakao T app. Its biggest feature is not only providing flight ticket search, reservation, and issuance services for all airline routes worldwide but also offering functions to call and book various transportation options needed for the journey from the departure location to the airport.
First, to provide seamless ‘one-stop’ transportation to the airport, Kakao T offers calling and reservation functions for mobility services such as Kakao T Venti, Kakao T Black, intercity buses, and trains, and convenience features for airport parking and valet services for private car users. For Gimpo Airport, it also provides parking fees and real-time parking status information, and users can utilize the recently launched Kakao T Valet advance reservation service. Parking-related services at Incheon Airport are scheduled to resume within this year.
Transportation services linked to overseas airport arrivals are also being prepared. In the third quarter of this year, taxi reservation and airport pickup reservation services will be offered for users who have booked flights to Guam.
Convenience has been enhanced by simplifying the flight ticket booking and payment process. Passenger information can be automatically saved for up to 30 people with a single input, eliminating the inconvenience of entering details repeatedly. After completing the booking, payment can be processed at once using the card pre-registered in the Kakao T app. Installment payment options are also supported depending on the card company’s policies and usage amount.
After booking is complete, the entire process from check-in information input to boarding procedures is guided by time. Through KakaoTalk notifications, users receive ▲ 96 hours before departure: input of information required for check-in ▲ 24 hours before: flight schedule and baggage regulations guidance ▲ 6 hours before: available transportation services from current location to the airport ▲ 3 hours before: assistance with check-in and boarding procedures.
