Shinsegae Department Store Holds Largest Wine Clearance Sale of the First Half of the Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 12th that it will hold a mid-year wine clearance sale featuring an unprecedented volume and discounts.
The wine clearance sale, held until the 16th, is prepared on a scale of 13 billion KRW, increasing the volume by 20% compared to last year. A total of 600,000 bottles from 10 importers will participate, offering prices discounted up to 90%.
In this wine event, Shinsegae will increase the sales of cost-effective wines priced around 50,000 KRW by 20% compared to last year. Representative popular products include the Bordeaux Grand Cru wine ‘Chateau Cantemerle 19’ at 54,000 KRW and the legendary cost-effective champagne ‘Andre Clouet Champagne Brut Grand Reserve’ at 53,000 KRW.
Natural wines, which have recently gained popularity among young people, and various premium wines are also prepared. Natural wine, which considers the environment, is a wine that minimizes human intervention from grape cultivation to aging during the winemaking process. It is characterized by a unique taste as it uses organic grapes without preservatives and does not filter impurities. Representative products include ‘Blanc V Natural Red’ at 56,000 KRW, ‘Cavai Valley Pinot’ at 60,000 KRW, and ‘Vintelloper Shiraz’ at 68,000 KRW.
Premium wines from France, the birthplace of wine, are also showcased. Burgundy and Bordeaux are the most famous wine regions in France and are the first choice for wine lovers worldwide when seeking premium wines. Especially, Burgundy produces distinctive wines in small quantities from densely divided vineyards, maintaining a solid fan base.
Representative products include ‘Chateau Le Pin 14’ at 7.3 million KRW, ‘Chateau Cheval Blanc 13’ at 870,000 KRW, ‘Maison Leroy Meursault 16’ at 1.19 million KRW, and ‘Clos de Tart 19’ at 2 million KRW.
The wines most sought after and repurchased by customers in the first half of the year are also introduced. Representative special price products include ‘Sine Quinta Collezione’ at 29,000 KRW, ‘Columbia Crest H3 Les Chevaux’ at 30,000 KRW, and ‘Emiliana G’ at 98,000 KRW.
Meanwhile, at SSG.com Wine House, more than 600 items are sold at discounts of up to 80% until the 19th. Along with first-class Grand Cru premium wines with high collectible value such as ‘Chateau Mouton Rothschild 06,’ a variety of daily wines like ‘1865 Selected Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon’ and ‘Wolf Blass Yellow Label Shiraz’ are prepared. Discounts of 3-7% are offered when purchasing 3, 4, or 5 or more bottles of the Dadaikseon products. Additionally, for some items, an extra 10% discount is available when paying with SSG Money.
