The National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) has partnered with elderly-related organizations to establish a solid system for protecting the human rights of the elderly.
The NHIS Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters announced on the 8th that it held a meeting on May 24th with elderly-related agencies to build a collaborative system for protecting elderly human rights.
The meeting was attended by Busan City Hall, Busan Police Agency, Busan East and West Elderly Protection Specialized Agencies, and the Long-term Care Institutions Association, mainly discussing education for long-term care workers to improve elderly human rights protection.
Through the meeting, the NHIS and related agencies including Busan City Hall agreed to jointly conduct worker education from June to October this year.
A Busan City Hall official said, “At a time when the rapid increase in the elderly population emphasizes the importance of protecting elderly human rights, we are pleased to be able to provide human rights protection education to long-term care workers who provide elderly care.”
