According to Mokpo Coast Guard on the 8th, from the 2nd to the 8th, 92 fourth-year students from the Department of Maritime Transportation at Mokpo National Maritime University visited the Coast Guard's exclusive pier, where they were introduced to the Pollution Response Support Center and toured the pollution response vessel.
The Coast Guard introduced the main missions of the marine police at the Pollution Response Support Center and provided education on initial response procedures to marine pollution on vessels, the status and usage of major pollution response equipment, and hazardous and noxious substances (HNS).
They then moved to the pollution response vessel, where explanations of the vessel's main equipment and specifications were given, and hands-on learning was conducted, including operating the oil recovery device (equipment that collects oil spilled at sea).

A Mokpo Coast Guard official said, “We hope students will take greater interest in the marine environment through this field training,” and added, “We will continue to strengthen cooperation between government and academia for the future of the marine environment sector.”
