A dark and neglected alley was reborn as a beautiful, inviting, and walkable space through the talent donation of Dongyang University students.
Twenty students from the Dongyang University Unkkim Volunteer Group carried out a mural painting volunteer activity around Seobu Elementary School in Yeongju City for four days starting from the 1st of this month.
For this mural painting event, the Yeongju City Social Economy Enterprise Council contributed by pre-cleaning the walls that would serve as canvases, helping to create beautiful murals.
The passion of the Dongyang University Social Service Center Unkkim Volunteer Group and the Social Economy Enterprise Council joined forces on the neighborhood walls. The 100-meter alley used by local residents and nearby elementary, middle, and high school students transformed into a new path where the Sobaeksan fox and dolphins swim.
Grandmother Lee (80), who lives at the end of the alley, said, “Thanks to the students, the dark alley has brightened,” and expressed her gratitude, saying, “I naturally smile from the joy of looking at the paintings.”
