Sogangseok, Songpa District Mayor Transition Committee Launched... Chairman Han Pyohwan, Former Head of Local Administration Research Institute
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seogang-seok, the elected mayor of Songpa District, said on the 7th, "I will serve with a humble attitude, focusing solely on the 670,000 residents of Songpa."
Seogang-seok made this statement at the certificate awarding ceremony for the elected district mayor and city/district council members, held in the afternoon at the Songpa Residents' Hall auditorium following the June 1 local elections.
On behalf of the elected officials, Seogang-seok said, "Thank you all for your hard work. Although there was fierce competition in the election, the flower of democracy, there was not a single unpleasant incident, and it was exemplary." He also urged, "Let us work together to create a livable and pleasant Songpa by working humbly and serving with the residents as our sole focus."
Meanwhile, the Songpa District Mayor Transition Committee officially launched on the same day, appointing Han Pyo-hwan, former president of the Korea Institute of Local Administration, as chairman. The committee consists of a total of 15 members across six subcommittees, including administration and autonomy.
The subcommittees are as follows: ▲ Administration and Autonomy Committee (Chairman Kwon Young-joo, Professor of Public Administration at University of Seoul) members Hwang Dae-sung and Jeong Jae-jun ▲ Finance and Economy Committee (Chairman Ra Hui-moon, President of the Korean Association of Public Finance) member Jo Chang-haeng ▲ Welfare and Health Committee (Chairman Kang Dong-wook, Professor at National Korea Welfare University) members Bae Bang-sik and Lee Hye-sook ▲ Education, Culture, and Sports Committee (Chairman Yuk Hyun-chul, Professor at Korea National Sport University) members Lee Dong-geun and Choi Ho-myeong ▲ Urban Environment Committee (Chairman Park Yang-ho, former president of the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements) members Na Jeong-hyun and Lee Bae-cheol
